This has just happened to my child on an esculator in Australia. She was not fooling around and I have warned my daughters of the dangers of esculators but it did not prevent my daughters croc being sucked into the metal pelmet at the top of the esculator. Luckily my daughter was not hurt but it could have been a very different story. There is obviously too many incidents occuring something needs to be done.

Tom, Are you serious? Are you telling me that Crocs are the first shoe ever to be caught in an escalator? Come on. I'm not up on my escalator accidents, but I would be willing to bet there have been many times before Crocs were around where people have gotten caught and injured on an escalator.

Either you only posted your comment to put a link to your site OR you are a person who feels people have no personal responsibility for taking care of themselves (or children) and have the right to sue whenever something bad happens to them. Even if they are to blame. Let me guess, you lean on the left side of the political fence?

Can you believe the statement that Crocs made that the shoes are not to blame but the maintenance of the escalator?

It's time that Crocs steps up to the plate and admit that there shoes are too soft and are can be potentially dangerous. They are completely wrong on this and need to reevaluate their position.

A donation to the www.eesf.org would be a start and an annoucement on there website warning of the problem. Escalators are as safe as they can be. Riders need to lift there feet at the end of the ride and need to be taught accordinly.
